Mr. Macfarlane is responsible for all aspects of Compressus' day-to-day operations. These include marketing, sales, customer services, project execution, and product development. Mr. Macfarlane has more than 30 years of corporate experience ranging from individual sales to managing an integrated marketing and sales organization. Prior to joining Compressus, Mr. Macfarlane was an executive at IBM. There he served most recently as IBM's Global Distribution Channels Marketing Executive, responsible for the development and deployment of internal and external channels of distribution in IBM's $10 billion distribution sector. In his early years with IBM, Mr. Macfarlane won the "President's Award" as IBM's leading typewriter salesman.
Mr. Macfarlane was IBM's first integrated marketing executive and helped to define that role on a global basis. When IBM faltered and Louis Gerstner took over as Chairman, Mr. Macfarlane was hand picked to be part of IBM's global "re-engineering" team. Mr. Macfarlane is a member of the American Marketing Association, has previously served on the Board of Advisors for Direct Marketing Business-to-Business, and guest lectured at Northwestern University. Mr. Macfarlane is a graduate of the University of Delaware, with a Bachelors degree in economics.
