closeThe MEDxConnect platform supports flexibility, scalability,
business process design and SOA—promoting cost-containment
and strategic growth.
Explore our robust platform by mousing over the diagram below.
Business Value Layer - These are components or applications required by the business entity to fulfill the business goals of the organization. The application may be a component of MEDxConnect or an external application that is called to perform a specified task within the workflow.
Vendor Diagnostic Viewers - MEDxConnect supports any combination of native PACS visualization and vendor neutral viewing applications. The viewer provides on-demand access to images, reports and other data and is launched directly from the MEDxConnect worklist without the need for additional authentication.
CRTM Solution - Provides for flagging and delivery of urgent findings by reporting to the ordering physician. The lifecycle is recorded for report generation and tracking, complying with regulatory requirements. CRTM is fully integrated with MEDxConnect and may be inserted into the business process diagram as a called application.
MEDxConnect™ Virtual Worklist - Provides a customized, integrated view of each user’s work to be performed. A “My Worklist” view is provided for studies which are automatically assigned, and the “Enterprise” view is available which contains all studies that the user is eligible to access. All relevant patient information such as historical images and associated diagnostic reports, documents and notes may be accessed directly from the worklist.
Peer Review System - By definition peer review is the evaluation of creative work by other people in the same field in order to maintain and enhance quality. The automated peer review application that is integrated with MEDxConnect randomly selects studies (by user defined rules) and displays them on the user’s worklist for review. Results are tracked and made available for quality reporting.
Business Process Designer - Provides for business process design and definition typically in a graphical environment. The output is a Business Process Diagram which looks and functions much like a flowchart with business rules that define the logic of the flow diagram. These rules are the policies and procedures that automate the business processes. The policies and procedures are represented by work tasks and decisions within the Business Process Diagram.
Services Layer - Provides a bridge between the Business Value Layer and the Data Source Layer and establishes a set of available operations. Additionally, it coordinates common interactions with the business applications to access and manipulate data, while invoking business logic.
MEDxConnect Enterprise Services Bus - An architectural model for implementing communications between software applications in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that provides connectivity for messaging, integration and workflow.
MEDxConnect Core Components - Business processes, when executed within a Business Process Diagram, that provide the business logic to receive and process imaging orders in order to produce a diagnostic report and deliver it to the ordering physician.
Business Reporting - Management reporting tool that provides canned and ad hoc reporting on all data elements. This includes productivity, turnaround time and business monitoring reports.
Diagnostic Reporting - Integrated and embedded voice recognition and dictation tools that are automatically launched from the MEDxConnect virtual worklist.
Master Patient Matching - Native and integrated applications, such as IBM Initiate for Patient for matching patient information accessed from disparate environments.
Prefetching of Priors - The ability to query unlimited DICOM sources for prior studies. Relevant studies, as defined by rule and priors (with associated reports), are available on the worklist.
Routing - Standard DICOM routing and workflow routing based on user credentialing, licensing and subspecialty.
Data Source Layer - Represented by all healthcare information systems that collect, process and store patient information. This information is typically stored in independent “data silos” and represents all medical information about the patient. After accessing these data silos, MEDxConnect acquires formats and communicates this information as prescribed by the business process.
